Ton puts Yabbies on top

A SUPERB 129 by Pakenham UpperToomuc (PUT’s) Justin Harris helped his side to an imposing 376 against top team Cardinia on Saturday.
It was Harris’ first Agrade ton.
PUT hosted Cardinia, won the toss and openers Justin Harris and John Wallin went for their shots.
Wallin fell on 36, but an 81run stand between Harris and Darren Warne (31) kept the momentum going.
Chris Smith joined Harris and the pair added a cracking 112 partnership before Harris was caught.
Smith departed soon after for 61 and when two more wickets fell cheaply the scorebook read 6/259 in the 64th over.
Luke Willis (76) and Zac Clough (42 not out) batted with resolve to add 95 for the seventh wicket and at the close the Yabbies had posted 8/376.

The Yabbies travelled to Nar Nar Goon and had to field first.
Some fine play saw the strong hosts held to 9/191.
John Miller (2/50 off 20), John Barrow (2/33 off 21), Stuart Davis (2/27 off 10) and Matt Dinnie (2/35) all bowled well, with keeper Andy Connor effecting three stumpings and two catches.

PUT hosted Cranbourne Meadows at Syme Rd and put the visitors in.
The Rebels slipped to 3/18 and despite the tail wagging slightly, could only manage 132.
Brett Maddock was (3/17 off nine), while Dave Merrigan and Luke Gunton took two each.
The Yabbies had reached 4/117 by the close of play, Chris Gunton (41), Craig Spicer (26) and Terry Bowler (21).

Lang Lang was asked to bat first and the wickets tumbled as the Yabbies got right on top to have the hosts all out for 37.
Tyson Carey took the bowling honours with 4/11 off nine overs.
Ben Clough (2/17) and Bob Phillips (2/9) bowled well.
In reply PUT reached 9/130.
Steve Wallace remains 30 not out, while Corey Arthur (26), Carey (18) and Dave Ryan (16) added runs.

John Fromhold and son Jackson opened well for the Yabbies against Nyora at Catani, posting 55 for the first wicket.
Matt Cole (21), Tom Black (11) and Nick Black (10) pushed the score to 10/138.
An undermanned Nyora was bundled out for 111, with Cole claiming 3/24.
Wickets also fell to Travis Decker, Nick Black and Nick Braham.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 17

The Yabbies fielded first at Beaconsfield and the Tigers scored 7/147 by the close.
The fielding featured four runouts and wickets to Nick Fromhold, Chris Bardwell and Luke Gunton.

This Saturday, 10 March, the junior match reports will be read out at the clubrooms at 6.30pm.
Following the senior reports, there will be endofseason tipples and a dance.
The senior presentation dinner will be held on Saturday, 14 April at Castello’s Pakenham Hotel see committee members for tickets.
Junior presentations will be held at the clubrooms on Friday, 30 March at 6.45pm.
