AFTER an improving performance against top side Brighton East, the Pakenham UpperToomuc women hosted Knoxfield at the Maryknoll Recreation Reserve.
After wining the toss, the Yabbies surprised the topfour side with a spirited bowling and fielding performance.
Skipper R. Baker led with excellent bowling eight overs, two maidens, 2/20.
Backed by every other bowler the Yabbies held Knoxfield to 5/177off 37 overs.
Losing a couple of early wickets, the Yabbies rallied with another great innings of 75 from A. Littlejohn, ably supported by the consistent E. Storer (27) and T. Garth (13).
With good performances by all the batters, the Yabbies finished at 8/189 for a greatly deserved victory.
The PUT women will host a game at the Pakenham Upper Recreation Reserve this coming Sunday, 10 December from 1pm and anyone interested in supporting women’s cricket or playing is invited to attend.
