Maroons set the pace

NYORA’S Bgrade side has given Emerald a sizeable run chase this week after posting 250 on Saturday.
Emerald won the toss, sent the Maroons in and openers Mark Pearse and Brenton Hackett put on a 67 run partnership before the latter was out for 32.
Nick Fairbank was next to go on 23.
Three quick wickets fell and Nyora was 5/120 in the 36th over.
This bought Adam Tagliaferro in to join Mark Pearse and together they put on a 72run partnership before the latter went out for a wellmade 69.
Tagliaferro went on to make 52, his first halfcentury for Bgrade.
Kelvin Toogood ran out of partners and was left stranded on 26 notout.
Emerald then had to face one over and at stumps was 1/0, Nick Fairbank being the bowler.

D GRADE

Nyora won the toss and elected to field against Clyde.
Wickets fell frequently and Clyde, with only nine players, was all out in the 28th over for 81.
Craig Leigh was the best of the Nyora bowlers taking 4/37 off 10 overs.
Ryan McIntosh took two wickets, Jacob Bohmer and Luke Tagliaferro also took a wicket each.
Brian Knight took two catches, Luke Tagliaferro, Michael Lewis and Scott Van Weel took one each.
Nyora then batted and declared at 2/128 after 20 overs.
Jimmy Watts made 67 and Andrew Cavigan 47 notout.
Clyde then faced another 19 overs and at the end of the day was 3/35.
Craig Leigh, Ryan McIntosh and Andrew Cavigan took a wicket each.

UNDER 17

Tooradin won the toss against Nyora and decided to bat.
After being dropped on the first ball, Sean Baker went on to make 50 retired for Tooradin. James Howard also retired.
Jake Hackett was the best of Nyora’s bowlers taking 2/36, Billy Hayes took 1/17 and Jacob Bohmer also took a wicket.
At stumps Tooradin was 4/195 off its allotted 40 overs.
Nyora will need to bat extremely well to overhaul this total.

UNDER 13

Nyora’s batsmen had to work hard for their runs as Devon Meadows, second on the ladder, has a very strong bowling attack.
Gavin Hackett opened the innings and was the last batsman out for a top score of 11 with Nyora being dismissed for 46. Jade Ellams was the next best with eight.
Devon Meadows closed the day’s play at 2/46 with Michael Van Weel claiming both wickets. Jemma Ellams took an excellent catch.
