A MAN was injured after a car hit a tree near Dalmore early Sunday.
Police said the Murrumbeena man and his passenger, both 18, were travelling west along the South Gippsland Highway when the car ran off the road and crashed.
Fatigue is believed to have been a possible factor in the crash. The incident prompted police to repeat warnings against driving in the early hours of the morning.
Cardinia TMU Sergeant Peter Garton said the crash occurred about 2.30am. “That’s the worst possible time to be driving a car,” he said.
The man was taken to Dandenong hospital.
