Cash call for disability safety

NEIGHBOURHOOD houses in Upper Beaconsfield and Berwick should soon have better facilities.
Upper Beaconsfield Community Centre will receive $8000 and the Berwick Neighbourhood Centre will get $2000 for new facilities to make them safer for residents with a disability.
Upper Beaconsfield Community Centre president Liz Grigg welcomed the funding announced last week by Gembrook state MP Tammy Lobato.
“This is great news for our community centre and our students, particularly those with a disability or difficulty walking,” she said.
“This money will go towards transforming a sloping dirt track into a safe wheelchairaccess path from the main community centre to the nearby arts annexe.”
