PAKENHAM SES is making itself at home at the new police and emergency service complex.
SES spokesman Michael Bates said the group’s relocation from its old Purton Road base to the new complex would be the first major project for the SES in the new year.
The $11 million complex on the Princes Highway is already home for Pakenham Police.
The Country Fire Authority will make its move later this year, opting to remain in John Street until after the fire season.
Mr Bates said 2007 would hold many challenges for Pakenham SES, including the relocation.
“It is anticipated that Pakenham SES will be fully operational from the complex by the time training returns on Monday, 15 January,” he said.
Mr Bates said Pakenham SES members thanked the community for its support over the past 12 months and urged drivers to continue to take care over the holiday period.
