CAR lovers were in heaven on Sunday.
A swap meet at the racecourse saw petrol heads, vintage fans and classic car enthusiasts gather in Pakenham to trade industry trips and all manner of spare parts and tools.
The swap meets operate around Melbourne and in country Victoria. It was the second time the event had been held at the Pakenham racecourse.
Car enthusiasts came from Warragul and Korumburra, Dandenong and around the local area for the oneday swap meet.
Organiser Graham Rose was happy with the response.
“It was well up on the first time. There’s a pretty strong following around here,” Mr Rose said.
“If you’re restoring an old vehicle, a swap meet is the place to pick up the tricks of the trade as well as those hard to find parts or tools.”
Mr Rose said punters walked away with armfuls of vintage parts.
“You name it, it was there vintage, veteran and classic car parts, new and used tools, performance equipment, everything,” he said.
The next Pakenham swap meet will be on 24 September.
