A good day for the Goon

NAR Nar Goon Netball Club teams played NeerimNeerim South on Saturday and came away with four out of six wins with A grade still undefeated for the season.

A GRADE

Nar Nar Goon started very strongly with accurate goaling from Erin Murphy and Sam Cox.
The defence throughout the court created many turnovers with Nazza Walker playing well.
Maisie Noonan directed play well through the centre and with great passing into the ring Nar Nar Goon ran away for a strong win.

B GRADE

Nar Nar Goon came up against topoftheladder NeerimNeerim South.
Cassie McMillan had a great game in defence, causing 12 turnovers during the game.
Bad passing let The Goon down and NeerimNeerim South took full advantage.
It was a good last quarter from Mirae Payroli who came up from the under17s.
Scores: NeerimNeerim South 49 d Nar Nar Goon 37.
Best: Cassie McMillan.

C GRADE

Nar Nar Goon played thirdplaced NeerimNeerim South and with regular defenders unavailable the girls tried hard all game and keep improving every week, with many good passages of play.
Georgia Keysers and Chantelle Joosten were thanked for filling in.
Bianca Bow played a good game in both wing attack and centre.
Scores: NeerimNeerim South 38 d Nar Nar Goon 18.

D GRADE

After a shaky start Nar Nar Goon steadied and took the lead at halftime.
Great defending from Mirae Payroli and Chantelle Joosten held the determined goalers of NeerimNeerim South at bay.
The Goon had a bad third quarter allowing NeerimNeerim South to close the lead.
The girls came out in the last quarter with a few positional changes and Ashlee Dore, coming up from the under15s took the court. Taryn Salisbury held strong in goals and Nar Nar Goon came away with a good win.

E & C Joinery Best Player Award: Taryn Salisbury.

E GRADE

Nar Nar Goon had a tough game against NeerimNeerim South – the score not reflecting the competitive nature of the game.
Nar Nar Goon’s defence end was particularly sharp, picking off some great balls. Jenna Noonan had an excellent game at centre and wing attack, directing play and passing well into the ring.

F GRADE

An excellent win to the Goon. Jemma Kerr earned best on court after an impressive performance.
The team is adjusting well to many changes and improving every week.
