Night raids nab 125

CARDINIA drivers were bombarded last week as Pakenham Police nabbed 125 driving offenders in a nighttime road blitz.
Police conducted Operation Kit between 8 and 12 January, targeting drivers on roads in towns as well as the hills and country areas.
Fourteen drivers were caught doing 30 kmh or more over the speed limit, with immediate loss of license, and 40 were caught speeding less than 25 kmh over the limit. Of these, police conducted one pursuit and two vehicles were detected doing 40 km/h or more over the limit.
Of 184 breath tests, 13 were caught over .05.
Other offences included unlicensed drivers (seven), disqualified or suspended drivers (three) and unregistered drivers (eight).
Senior Sergeant Trevor Teer of Pakenham Police said the operation, conducted by Pakenham traffic management unit and uniform members, was successful and that police would continue it in the future.
