Quick Bullant bites Cougars

A FOURwicket haul by Officer Agrade’s Dean Marchetti helped to get his team back into the game against Clyde on Saturday.
Officer captain Shane White lost the toss and the Cougars asked the Bullants to field first.
Clyde got off to a good start being 0/64 and then 3/145 before some fast bowling from Marchetti took 4/59 from 13 overs.
Andrew Tucker again bowled superbly in the hot conditions to take 2/38 from 15 overs.
Kable Dowsett had 1/45 off 17 overs. Rod Zlonzak took a critical wicket of opener D. Waite and had the accurate figures of 1/9 off six overs.
Parttime spinner Ben Baxter also chipped in with 1/7 from four overs as Officer bowled Clyde out for 188.
The Bullants then batted for 12 overs and Chris Savage eight notout and Rod Zlonzak nine notout will resume at 0/21 this Saturday.

On a very fast Clyde ground, Officer had Clyde in trouble early with Liam Main producing a wicket in his first over and completed a brilliant spell to take 6/36 from 15 overs straight.
James Quinn was accurate with 1/39 and Brent Pullen with 2/25 from eight overs was also accurate.
Mick Adams had a good day behind the stumps with three catches and no byes. Glen Longmuir bowled tightly for 1/8 and from 6/79, Clyde’s tail wagged as they made 258.
Officer will be looking to finish the season off with a good batting effort and a win.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:E GRADE

Officer played Beaconsfield and batted first making 100 that was disappointing in the hot batting conditions.
Phil Benedick top scored with 19 in a good return to the team, hitting four fours.
Peter Quigley batted determinedly to be 14 notout and Gary Tivendale hit a big six in his innings of 14.
With 28 overs to bowl, Officer started well with 1/11 with Wayne Danks taking a wicket in his second over. Tom Bulenok took 1/27 in eight overs and Wayne Danks 1/20.
Beaconsfield was 3/81 at stumps.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:F GRADE

Officer played Emerald at Hillcrest Secondary College and was beaten after making 61.
Jayden Bell took three wickets in a good spell in tough conditions.

Playing top side Merinda Park, Officer was all out for 50 with Merinda Park having taken firstinnings points being 120 at the end of the day’s play.

Officer played Emerald at Worrell Reserve and struggled with an undermanned team.

Playing against Beaconsfield, Officer was all out for 73. Kane Chidwiggin top scored with 13 and Lachlan Porter hit one boundary in his innings of 11 with Jessie Longmuir making 6, Nathan Selleck (5), Marcus Sattler (5) and Jake Tivendale (5).
With the ball, Officer had Beaconsfield 3/20 with Lachlan Porter (1/8), Rohan Burns (1/4) with the new ball and Jessie Longmuir (1/0) in two top overs.
The junior presentation night will be at the clubrooms on Friday, 16 March at 6.30pm.
