Bass project gases up jobs

UP to 10 per cent of Victoria’s entire gas supplies will be sourced from the new Bass Gas centre at Lang Lang.
Premier Steve Bracks officially launched the $750 million project on Monday.
Mr Bracks said the project had created more than 300 jobs during construction with another 60 ongoing jobs in the region, providing a boost to the local economy.
“We have worked with the gas industry for almost seven years to deliver more secure, efficient and affordable energy supplies for families,” Mr Bracks said.
The project has started production, providing gas from the Yolla gas field to the south east Australian gas network.
Cardinia Shire officials joined state and local government and industry representatives at the project launch.
