THREE drinkdrivers were netted in a police traffic blitz on Saturday night.
A total of 179 motorists were stopped at several points around Pakenham during Operation Maverick.
Police were pleased to find the majority of drivers followed the rules but expressed disappointment that the drivers who were found to be over the legal limit were well over.
“We were disappointed with the high readings,” Cardinia TMU Acting Sergeant Col Davies said.
A 33yearold man received penalty notices after his blood alcohol content was more than 0.1 per cent — double the prescribed limit.
Police tested the motorist after he was clocked doing 134km/h in a 90km/h zone at Officer.
A 52yearold woman blew over 0.1 per cent and a 52yearold man exceeded .05.
Police said they would step up traffic operations with a particular focus on drink driving during the leadup to Christmas.
