CASEY Council has developed a program to promote peace in families.
This will be done through educators, faith leaders and community participants to identify and address potential family violence issues.
Casey mayor Kevin Bradford said the Federal Government had provided $479,000 over the next three years to support the work.
He said the program would be developed in partnership with CardiniaCasey Community Health and the Casey Pastors Network.
“Family violence has been identified as an issue in the community, and this funding will help us build on the highly successful forum on family violence held in July,” he said.
