PROBUS is expected to be established at Beaconsfield during a meeting in the Beaconsfield Community Centre, O’Neil Road at 10am next Wednesday, 21 February.
The Rotary Club of Berwick will sponsor the new club.
Meeting coordinator Rotarian John Blyth said Probus had enjoyed unprecedented success in Berwick.
“Berwick has five clubs and more than 500 members, plus a large waiting list,” he said.
“Many people have been on the waiting list for a year so we decided to launch another club at Beaconsfield.
“The main restriction is venue space to fit people in.”
Prospective member Norm McPhee said he was on a waiting list and was keen to see the Beaconsfield Club start.
Further information is available from Mr Blyth on 9707 1324 or Fred McCubbin on 9705 6550.
