NOMINATIONS for the 2007 Citizen of the Year are closing soon and Cardinia Shire Council wants residents to put their hands up.
“Cardinia is full of incredible people who make an amazing difference to our communities,” council spokeswoman Miranda Long said.
“Everyone knows someone in their town who drives change or tirelessly contributes their time to community projects. Help us to recognise and celebrate these people and join in the fun of nominating someone for an Australia Day Award.”
Any individual or group can nominate someone for an award, and recipients don’t have to be wellknown.
Categories this year are Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Event of the Year.
