Kooweerup sides beat Bunyip

KOOWEERUP in E grade played Bunyip and had a confidenceboosting 11goal win.
Both sides made a slow start in the windy conditions with Kooweerup’s Sam Belsham and Shanae Ingram converting well.
Good court coverage by all players provided Mariah Bell with shots at goals and the halftime had Kooweerup in control 122.
The gusty wind made it difficult for both sides in the second half but good efforts by Stephanie Kelly, Emily Harrison and Laura De Hommell saw Kooweerup home with ease.
Scores: Kooweerup 22 d Bunyip 11.

On a cold windy morning Bunyip matched up well against Kooweerup at the start.
Cassie Belsham made good clearances out of the centre with Alex Bell making some amazing shots at goal in harsh conditions.
The wind became stronger during the afternoon and Kooweerup steadied, but Jess Chapman went down with a rolled ankle, causing the defence to be restructured in the second term.
Kooweerup went downwind the last quarter and, with Jess Chapman and Brooke Radings dominating, had a 13point victory.
Scores: Kooweerup 22 d Bunyip 9.
