Teens take axe to rotunda

POLICE are investigating a vandalism attack on a rotunda and other park equipment at Puffing Billy Park in Emerald last week.
Senior Constable Craig Front from Emerald said six youths in their midteens allegedly used an axe to damage the rotunda and other park equipment.
He said the offence occurred on Monday, 8 May at 10.15pm, but the teenagers ran off when approached by police.
Sen Const Front said $2000 worth of damage was caused to the equipment.
Police are also calling for information on a dog attack that occurred just after 12.30pm on Wednesday, 10 May, outside the Emerald Pharmacy in Kilvington Drive.
Sen Const Front said the dog was tied up outside the pharmacy and attacked a male victim who was walking past the shop.
He said the male victim suffered a small bite.
Meanwhile in Gembrook on the weekend, a man had his motorbike stolen on Sunday, 14 May.
Sen Const Front said the bike was in a trailer parked next to the Puffing Billy Railway Station in Gembrook.
He said the man left the bike unattended for 15 to 20 minutes and returned to find it had been stolen.
Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact Emerald police on 5968 4422.
