Beaconsfield tops table

BEACONSFIELD A and B grade teams had solid victories over welldrilled ROC teams, confirming their top ladder positions with finals looming.
The Agraders fought it out to score a ninepoint win, 49 to 40, while the Bgrade margin was a comfortable 21 goals with the final score 57 to 36.

C GRADE

In a lacklustre performance Beaconsfield was lucky to defeat ROC.
There were plenty of mistakes and lazy passing and a lot of crowding in the first quarter, but Beaconsfield improved overall performance in the second quarter.
here were some flashes of Beaconsfield’s normal disciplined game.
The centre and midcourt managed to improve some of the past week’s awkwardness, as they worked together to ensure a better flow of play into and around the ring.
But it was not one of Beaconsfield’s better matches for the season.
Scores: Beaconsfield 32 d ROC 25.
Best: Sarah Battista.

15 AND UNDER

Against ROC the Beaconsfield defence shone through, applying pressure for the entire game.
Both attackers shot well and supported each other.
The midcourt in the attacking end fed the ball to the shooters with crisp passes and the defensive midcourt applied strong oneonone pressure, getting Beaconsfield back into the game.
Scores: Beaconsfield 30 d ROC 21.
Best: Alex O’Sullivan, Ellie Gubbins, Holly Difabrizio.

13 AND UNDER

Most of the game Beaconsfield trailed ROC by a few goals, but after a few changes some players went to completely different positions.
Naomi Allardyce was best with an outstanding display at goal keeper and Ruby Veltmeyer proved she was a great goaler.
Dannielle Llinares, Ruby Meade, Jennifer Rooke and Sarah Bell worked hard in defence, causing many intercepts.
Scores: Beaconsfield 19 d ROC 14.
