Berwicksweeps the court

ONLY five matches were played last weekend against Doveton, Berwick coming home with the points in each.

B GRADE

Berwick played a great team game to secure a win. Goalers Belinda Walshe, Sharon Bahm and Virginia Hester played well. The midcourt players Jess Monahan, Kelly Bateman, Brittany Thompson and Belinda Hester were strong and the defenders worked hard to cut off Doveton’s passing into the goal ring.
Scores: Berwick 56 d Doveton 32.

C GRADE

Berwick had a terrific game against Doveton and played steadily to increase its lead at every break. The midcourt did well and the defenders intercepted many Doveton leads. Glenda Clarke and Nicole Liddle goaled accurately to keep a handy advantage.
Scores: Berwick 51 d Doveton 32.

17 AND UNDER

Berwick played impressively against Doveton and dominated from the start, Donna Clarke and Emma Whatman setting high standards in the first quarter, in which 15 goals were scored. Tight defensive pressure by Renata Boon and Bree D’Agostino made it difficult for Doveton to access their goalers. Chloe Moss was outstanding in every position she played. Player changes in each quarter helped Berwick to come away with a convincing win.
Scores: Berwick 57 d Doveton 10.

15 AND UNDER

Berwick had a hardfought win against Doveton with outstanding performances from Melissa McCormick, who was solid all game at centre, and Alyce Shearman at goal attack, who made strong leads into the goal ring and shot accurately. Defensively Michelle Graham and Cassey Krylov gave the attacking end many scoring opportunities with their interceptions.
Scores: Berwick 24 d Doveton 17.

13 AND UNDER

Berwick won convincingly against Doveton. Chaille Hurst, Emily Pratt and Stefani Hompot intercepted many of Doveton’s passes, making it easy for Stacey Hargraves, Claire Maskell and Jessica Master to score 47 goals. Meagan Dyker displayed strong defensive skills while Courtney Egerton fed beautifully into the goal ring.
Scores: Berwick 47 d Doveton 15.
