Brett bites for Cobras

A CLASSY 131 by Merinda Park Agrade’s Brett Whittingham helped his team to an impressive 291 against Emerald at Donnelly Reserve on Saturday.
Cobras’ tailend batsman Scott Kunziak contributed a fine 34 with allrounder Clayton Riddle scoring 28.
At stumps, the Cobras were in a good position having Emerald 1/22 with Jess Mathers picking up the wicket.

Playing Cranbourne Meadows at Lawson Poole Reserve, the Cobras bowled the Rebels out for 190 thanks too newly promoted Grant Pearson with 4/51 from 12 overs.
Anthony Clarke picked up 3/59 from 18 overs in a great spell of offspin bowling, with former wicketkeeper Rod Morrison picking up 2/27 from 12 overs.
James LaughlinGlen picked up the other wicket to fall.
At stumps the Cobras were 1/20 from nine overs.

Playing Tooradin, the Cobras made 9/253 at stumps with Shane Dalton scoring 55 retired and fellow Cobra veteran Mark DiPilla scoring 43.
Allrounders, John Cuthbertson and Pat Graham both scored 21 with Andrew Martin making 17.

The Cobras took on Devon Meadows at Lyndhurst Secondary College and made 220.
Star with the bat for the Cobras was Daniel McCalman scoring 62.
Cobra veterans Ron Hughes (37), Dion Olszewski (21), Matthew Harper (18) and captain Paul Humphrey (17) helped to build the score.
At stumps Devon Meadows was 0/13 from four overs.

The Cobras had a 30run win over KilcundaBass with the highlights being 50 retired for Gerard Healy, 44 for Chad McKie and 40 for captain David Field.
The Cobras scored 7/208.
In the field, the Cobras bowled out the visitors for 178, with Andrew Hathaway taking 3/40 and Trevor Lewtas 2/38.
The other wicket takers were Stuart Martin, Dave Field, Jeff Gillespie and Marcus Beaver.

The Cobras have already won their match against Officer with the visitors bowled out for 31 and then scoring 1/120 by stumps.
Best of the bowlers were Andrew Martin (4/10 from eight overs), Marcus Beaver (2/6 from 12 overs) and James LaughlinGlen (2/0 in two balls).
Batting, both Nathan Beaver (50) and Andrew Martin (52) reached the retirement score.

The Cobras scored 7/203 against Pakenham UpperToomuc with Jason Pongracic making 40 notout, Jarrod Armitage 31 retired and Daniel Andreadis 31 retired.

Playing Kooweerup, the Cobras had the visitors 7/173 by stumps.
Beau Langans was the pick of the bowlers with 2/16 from three overs and Dylan Compt 2/39 from four overs.
John Lalor, James Garner and Glen Slater all picked up a wicket each.

The Cobras had a bye on Friday and played the under15s in a practice match.

The Cobras played KilcundaBass that scored 70 and the Cobras 36.
Kyle Salter took a good catch off the bowling of Ashleigh Little with Caleb Boswell getting another runout.
Batting, James Jordan, Brady Boswell, Kyle Salter and Dylan Clancy all hit fours.
