Cobras fight it out

MERINDA Park’s Agrade team, defending 164, fought out its game against Catani that was bowled out for 195.
The surprise of the day came from opening batsman Peter Jessop who took 4/32 from nine overs.
Heath Gibson also picked up two wickets for 14 from three overs and Craig Boswell put in a long spell to finish with 2/32 from 17 overs.

It was disastrous day for the Cobras that were bowled out for 80 with only Mark DiPilla 23, Jason Edwards 20 and Pat Graham 12 showing anything with the bat.
Following on the Cobras did a little better to finish the day’s play at 3/32 with captain Russell Dunn scoring 14.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:D GRADE

The Cobras had an easy win over Pakenham by 183 runs.
Chasing 327, the visitors were never in the hunt, bowled out for 141.
Jace Field took 3/27 from six overs, Matt Pongracic 3/41 from six and John Proctor 2/29 from 15 overs.
Following on, Pakenham finished the day on 5/81.

After losing on the first day, the Cobras were in the field until Tooradin (with only nine players) made 302.
Robert Strang was the outstanding bowler with 4/81. Wayne Bruce also did well to pick up 2/57.
Batting a second time, the Cobras did well to score 1/123 with Chad McKie 83 not out and Robert Clarke 18 not out.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 17

The Cobras just fell short in their oneday game against Kooweerup (8/87), losing by four runs.
The best of the bowlers were Josh Colomer 2/7 from two overs, Paul Boland, 2/11 from four overs and captain Michael Theodoridis with 2/14 from 3.2 overs.
The Cobras then scored 6/83 with Matt Grayson making a fine 28 retired, Michael Theodoridis 25 retired and Paul Boland nine not out.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 15 WHITE

The Cobras won a close one against Beaconsfield by just one run.
Batting first, the Cobras made 7/107 with David Spencer making 20, Jason Pongracic 18 retired and Jarrod Armitage 16 retired.
In the field the Cobras did well with Beaconsfield scoring 6/106.
Brenton Rose picked up 2/14 from three overs, Simon Spencer with 1/12 from three overs and Matt Pongracic with 1/13 from three overs.
@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 15 RED

Playing Cardinia, the Cobras made 8/93 with Brad Twyford making 24, Anthony Burr 24 not out and Daniel McCalman 20.
In the field the Cobras lost after Cardinia scored 9/128.
Glen Salter was the pick of the bowlers with 2/19 from three overs and John Lalor with 2/29 from three overs.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 13

Playing KilcundaBass, the Cobras had a great start to the season with a big win.
Batting first, the Cobras scored 5/141 with Jason Pongracic scoring 28 not out, Josh Prudden 16 retired, Kiah LaughlinGlen 15 retired, Luke Claringbould 16 retired, Les Howell 16 retired and Robert Reed 11 not out.
In the field, the Cobras bowled KilcundaBass out for 49, thanks to some good bowling by Sahan Wimalagunaratna with 2/5 from three overs and Udesha Kalapuge with 2/4 from three overs. Luke Claringbould, Les Howell, Simon Spencer and Josh Prudden all picked up a wicket each.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 11

Unfortunately the Cobras didn’t play due to Tooradin not having enough players. A match with Clyde (who had the bye) couldn’t be organised in time for Sunday.
