Heaps of holiday fun in store

CALLING all young people don’t let the holiday boredom strike.
Get active, stay healthy and have heaps of fun over the holidays by being part of Cardinia Youth Services holiday program.
A huge variety of awesome activities are on offer for young people aged 10 to 16 during the January school holidays and all events are supervised.
Sign up for either a Freestyle BMX workshop or a skateboarding clinic. Sessions are available for both beginners or those who are more experienced. Participants will need to bring their helmet, bike or skateboard.
Dates and venues are: Tuesday, 16 January at Gembrook Skate Park; Wednesday, 17 January at Garfield Skate Park and Thursday, 18 January at Pakenham Skate Park.
For clinic and workshop times contact Cardinia Shire Youth Services on 5945 4307 during business hours. The cost is $5 per person and places are limited so be sure to book in early. No bookings accepted after Monday, 9 January.
On Tuesday, 23 January there will be a jampacked day of skating at The Shed in Cranbourne. For just $7, Cardinia Shire Youth Services will provide transport and entry into the skate park. Those taking part will need to bring their lunch or money to buy something from the canteen.
On Wednesday, 24 January there’s a trip to the Dandenong Skate Centre for rollerblading and rollerskating. Again, just $7 includes transport to and from the skate centre and free blades or roller skate hire, but bring a spare pair of socks. Bring lunch or buy it from the canteen.
Finish off the holidays on Thursday, 25 January with a trip to the Mornington Peninsula for a surfing lesson. Wetsuits, surfboards and two hours of professional surfing lessons all for $40. Bring along a towel, bathers or board shorts and lunch — there are no facilities to buy lunch on this outing.
The bus will pick up from a number of locations around the shire for activities held on 23, 24 and 25 January.
Avoid disappointment and book now. For consent forms, bus timetables and pickup points for activities contact Cardinia Shire Youth Services on 5945 4307.
