Kooweerup cleans Dusties

KOOWEERUP had two good lowergrade wins over Warragul Industrials last week.

E GRADE

In Saturday’s match between Kooweerup and Warragul Industrials good pressure was applied down the court by all players and good direction of play by Jade Williams in the centre enabled goalers Shanae Ingram and Sam Belsham to score quickly. Mariah Bell and Kassy Male in defence made the Dusties work hard. After changes by both sides the Dusties kept Kooweerup’s lead to two goals at halftime.
Pressure from both sides resulted in rushed passes. There was one goal between the sides at the final change before strong play through the centre court by Jade Williams and Laura DeHommel enabled Kooweerup goalers to score more freely at the end and see their team home. Scores: Kooweerup 32 d Warragul Industrials 24.

F GRADE

Kooweerup made the most of its centre breaks early with Marie Osborne getting the ball out to Cassie Belsham and Lauren Harrison quickly. Structured differently in the second quarter, Kooweerup had tough opposition from the Dusties. Sarah Cammarano and Brooke Radings performed well but the Dusties led by one goal at halftime. Kooweerup gained the advantage after halftime with clean centre clearances from Cassie Belsham giving Jess Chapman and Alexis Bell options to score. Chelsea Ingram was swung in to wing attack in the last quarter and with improved teamwork Kooweerup won by nine goals. Scores: Kooweerup 31 d Warragul Industrials 22.
