PAKENHAM’S Agrade team faces a 242 run chase against Tooradin this week after a steady bowling and fielding performance on Saturday.
Opening bowlers Shannon Hayhow and Dale McCraw bowled tightly to see the first wicket fall in the 36th over 1/71.
Graham McCraw and Mark Shelton then came on and bowled good line and length. Ruwan Weerawardana also contributed 11 overs 0/30.
At tea the score was 1/85 and then Hayhow took the next wicket and then captain Trevor Johnston with a great catch from fellow bowler Dale McCraw.
Dave Nagel came into the bowling attack, bowling three balls before retiring back to the field injured.
Alan Ruddell, in his debut game, took two catches.
With runs scarce, Tooradin started swinging the bat and ended up 9/242.

Pakenham went to Tooradin, won the toss and elected to bowl, opening with Ashley Bailey and captain Eddie Duiker with the first wicket falling in the 14th over at 1/58.
A tough game shaped up for Pakenham, the second wicket not falling until the 38th over and the score 2/126 at tea. With plenty of wickets in hand, Tooradin picked up the pace and after 70 overs had amassed 9/355. Best of the bowlers: Ashley Bailey (4/118 off 24), Dave Lagerwey (3/68 off 16) and Eddie Duiker (2/102 off 18).

Pakenham won the toss and sent Kooweerup in to bat at home.
The first wicket fell at 46 and after failing in the field, Kooweerup declared at 7/298.

Pakenham was then sent into bat and made 2/51, Chris Chilcott (27) and Andrew Millar (20 not out).

Travelling to Nyora, Pakenham lost the toss and was asked to bowl.
Nyora lost its first wicket in the 27th over with the score at 189.
Pakenham tried hard in the field, but was unable to break through the stiff competition.
Nyora declared at 9/307 in the 47th over.
Best of the bowlers: Mick Chilcott (6/95 off 14), Ron McKinnon (1/77 off 15) and T. Holt (1/26 off 6).
Pakenham then went into bat, opening with Paul Hart and Peter Carr, losing the latter with the score on nine and ending the day 1/16.

Pakenham played KilcundaBass at the Don Jackson Reserve, won the toss and bowled, getting off to a slow start with the first wicket falling at 1/55.
Wickets fell all day with KilcundaBass ending the day with a score of 6/216 off 35 overs.
Best of the bowlers: Jack Anning (2/31 off 6), Dave Lane (2/58 off 6) and Brenton Huyskens (1/17 off 6).
Pakenham went in for a bat for the final time in 2006, with the openers getting a good start losing their first wicket at 33.
The batsmen got a good start, but wickets fell consistently until tea.
Jamie McGivern and junior Luke Jackson (in his first senior game) put on a 39run partnership and Pakenham all out for 138. Best of the batsmen: Jamie McGivern (32), Luke Jackson (25), Brenton Huyskens (18) and Jack Anning (14)

Playing Pakenham Upper at home, it batted and made 2/124 off its 25 overs.

Pakenham then went into bat, making 8/72 off 25 overs.
Raff Visser retired at 18 and Daniel Doyle retired at 15. Shannon O’Dea made 9 not out.
A loss, but a good effort against the league leaders.

Making the journey down the coast to KilcundaBass, Pakenham won the toss and elected to bat and made 4/118 off its 25 overs.
Zane McMillan retired at 17, Brad Stagg retired on 15 and Josh Mirabito retired on 16.
After a good batting performance Pakenham then bowled and got KilcundaBass all out 5/72 off its 24 overs.
Best of the bowlers: Steve Dillon (2/1 off 3), James Bird (2/2 off 1) and Ben Parker (1/11 off 3).

Playing Emerald at the Don Jackson Reserve, Pakenham lost the toss and was asked to bowl.
Bowling was hard against the wind with the light ball and Emerald made 84 off its 24 overs.
Pakenham then went in to bat, putting good partnerships together, but unfortunately only made 76 runs.
The Brumby’s Bakery award goes to Zac Bloomfield with 19 runs.
