MOTORISTS who like to let the whole world know what music they’re playing may one day find it’s a case of ‘doof, doof and you’re done’.
Cardinia Shire councillor Kate Lempriere said she supported moves in other municipalities to clamp down on cars playing ultraloud music as they cruise around town centres.
Geelong council recently flagged a new local law as part of moves to address hoon behaviour in the bayside city.
Cr Lempriere said the move had merit.
“I think it’s a good idea to ban doof, doof music out of cars down the Main Street. I shall mention it to other councillors,” Cr Lempriere said.
The Central Ward councillor has often promoted more unorthodox measures to rid the town of a growing problem with graffiti, vandalism and other antisocial behaviour.
Cr Lempriere has also supported the notion of playing classical music around the shopping centre to discourage hoons from hanging around.
