THE 18th annual Riding of the Bounds will start and finish at Akoonah Park, Berwick on Sunday, 23 April.
Assembly and registrations will start at 9am and riders are expected to be back at the park about 2pm.
Riding of the Bounds is part of a 550yearlong celebration, which involves residents riding on horseback and in horsedrawn vehicles around Casey’s sister city BerwickuponTweed.
The ride in England began when the population was protecting its border against Scottish insurgents who laid claim to Berwick upon Tweed.
These days the ride is a commemoration of those times and is a tradition taken up by the former City of Berwick and continued by the City of Casey.
More than 250 horses and riders took part in Casey’s 2005 event.
Several horsedrawn vehicles were part of the 15kilometre journey around Berwick and Upper Beaconsfield last year.
Riders inspected the boundary between Cardinia and Casey.
Those wanting to take part must register to be eligible for the ride.
