Tooradin struggles against ROC

TOORADIN senior sides struggled against ROC but the under15 side had a big win.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:A GRADE

Tooradin went into the ROC game a player down. Despite outstanding shooting from Sharna Wadeson and an injured Keren Van Der Heyden, ROC secured an early lead. Tenneale Wells played an outstanding game despite struggling with injury while Rachel Splatt and Michelle Barnes worked hard against tough and accurate ROC goalers. Kate Lynch added defensive pressure through the midcourt and Shona Wells and Sara Drain worked hard around the goal ring, however Tooradin was unable to close the gap.
Scores: ROC 47 d Tooradin 41.
Awards: Tenneale Wells, Keren Van Der Heyden, Sharna Wadeson, Rachel Splatt.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:C GRADE

The rain held off but the courts were slippery, making for a fairly scrappy match. Tooradin started well with midcourters Cris Rooke and Kim Jonas working well around the ring, feeding beautifully into goalers Fran Pecora and Alison Noonan, who were under pressure from physical defenders.
But in the second half Tooradin dropped off dramatically, scoring only 12 goals for the half, something they can not afford against stronger opposition.
Scores: ROC 37 d Tooradin 8.
Awards: Anneliese Van Rooye, Fran Pecora, Kim Jonas.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 15

Tooradin came away with another win over ROC.
Missy Attwood and Kellie North shot accurately, establishing a small lead that grew during each quarter.
Tarah Martin, Ashley Heald and Melanie Mantel were up the defensive end and took wonderful intercepts between them.
Kate Attwood, Shannon Peasley and Vicky Wilson dominated in the midcourt with good passes to the goalers.
Scores: Tooradin 48 d ROC 16.
Awards: Tarah Martin, Kellie North.
