AN incredible bowling performance that yeilded match figures of nine wickets for only four runs by under15 Beacy Saints’ Jade Osborne against Officer was the highlight of the weekend games.
Osborne starred, retiring after scoring 33 with the bat, and then going on a second innings wicket blitz, producing a staggering six overs, five maidens and seven wickets for one run.
He followed that with two wickets for three in Officer’s second knock, giving him an outstanding return for the game.
Robert Wynne, representing Emerald Blacks and Beaconsfield’s Peter Sofra produced the best allround performance in under17 ranks.
Wynne captured 3/13 from eight overs and also scored 19 against his Pakenham opponents, while Sofra scored 52 and snared 3/8 from eight overs against Clyde.
The under17 batsmen who scored 50 or better were Peter Sofra (Beaconsfield Bandits), M. Livermore (Emerald Reds), Sam Pullen (Nar Nar Goon), Andrew Martin (Merinda Park), Jake Bardwell and Nick Broham (PUT) and Matt Couper (Officer).
