BEACONSFIELD’s A grade cricket team won the toss and batted against Catani in a game that shaped up as a great contest.
Catani, however, dominated with the ball to dismiss Beaconsfield for 90 in 34 overs.
Kris Fletcher topscored with 21, and Madison Andrews (11) was the only other batsman to reach double figures.
In reply, Catani passed the required total with two wickets down and went on be dismissed for a total of 227.
Jack Benbow was the key wickettaker with 5/66 from 10 overs and Johannes Jordan captured 2/27 from four sharp overs.
The surprise packet with the ball was Fletcher with 2/5, and captain Luke Sibley took one wicket.

Squaring up against Cranbourne Meadows, Beaconsfield lost the toss and was asked to bowl.
After a sharp effort with the ball and in the field, Cranbourne Meadows was dismissed for 102.
Travis Turnbull led the charge with 5/14 off six tidy overs, while Peter Sofra continued his good form with 3/23, as did Jarrod Williams with 2/25.
Beaconsfield then set about getting the required runs as quickly as possible.
Matt Brown scored an excellent 76 opening the batting, while support came from Troy McDermott (15) and Geoff Bliss (12).
Declaring at 7/141, Beaconsfield sent Cranbourne Meadows in for another hit before stumps.
In a great start for Beaconsfield, Travis Turnbull captured 3/7 to have Cranbourne Meadows at 3/18 at stumps, still 19 runs behind.
Beaconsfield will look for an outright win to keep its finals chances alive this weekend.
