Caution urged over fire season

RESIDENTS should make an extra effort this fire season to protect themselves against fire attack, says La Trobe MP Jason Wood
Mr Wood said he had lived in the Dandenongs for more than 30 years and never seen the Hills so dry.
“The CFA informed me that rainfall this year is only slightly better than before the Black Friday fires in 1939 and the 1983 Ash Wednesday bushfires,” he said. “We do not want to see a repeat of Ash Wednesday where lives were lost and homes were destroyed.”
