PAKENHAM residents have been warned to be wary of doorknockers dressed as construction workers.
The warning came after a man wearing a fleece top robbed two houses in Drysdale Street, Pakenham, last week.
Pakenham Police said the man claimed to be from a building company and asked to be allowed inside to check the houses’ insulation.
The two houses were next to each other and the man called about 10am on Tuesday, 21 March.
He stole a purse that was on a kitchen bench from one of the houses.
Police said the man was seen leaving the area in an old model white Laser hatchback.
He is 165cm to 170cm with dark brown hair and of southern European appearance.
Anyone with information about the man or similar incidents should contact Pakenham CIU on 5941 1033 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
