Emerald upsets leader

EMERALD hosted Yarra Valley Netball League leader Yarra Junction in round 17.
Yarra Junction started the first quarter strongly and took a fivegoal lead at the end of the first quarter.
Emerald went in determinedly, contested every ball, made every pass count and at halftime had a lead of four goals.
The second half was tight and Yarra Junction came back within one goal at the end of the third quarter. Things remained close until the final whistle but Emerald came away to win by two goals.
Scores: Emerald 36 d Yarra Junction 34.
Best: Kate Griffin, Bev White, Megan Baguley, Elise Borg.
