Garfield v Leongatha

Garfield: The Stars have several players who can kick multiple goals given the opportunity this week, with Mal McKenna, Matt Cunningham and rover Andy Soumilas dangerous in attack.
Leongatha: The Parrots have a reliable and consistent midfield led by Tom Dowd, Jack Hughes and Caine Salmon. If they can get on top a Leongatha victory is on the cards.

Garfield: The class edge of players like Shaun Pickering, Ben Marsh and Andy Soumilas is the key to the Stars’ ability to cover deficiencies in its key positions.
Leongatha: The ability of Leongatha’s leaders Paul LePage and David Crosthwaite to stand tall and provide direction under pressure from Garfield’s harrassing tactics.

Garfield: Will Harley Lacunes make a return to the senior side after a top performance in the Stars’ reserves last weekend? The youngster is an exciting performer at his best and should be close to selection.
Leongatha: How will the Parrots’ defence hold out Garfield’s scoring options, especially if Ben Geitz does not play? Leongatha has already conceded more points against it than any other side this year.

Garfield: The ability of Garfield to handle Drouin’s ground its home base for this game. Leongatha played at the ground two weeks ago and will be more familiar with it than the Stars.
Leongatha: The weather. If it rains and the ground becomes slippery the Parrots will likely be in trouble, however, if the day is fine and speed becomes the key, Leongatha could surprise a few.

Garfield simply must win or the vultures will be circling. Ben Soumilas will realise that and a committed effort should see the Stars get off the bottom of the ladder with a sixgoal result.
