RYE upset Dromana in the Nepean League match of the day with a dominant 60point victory.
The difference made by the omission of interleague halfback Adam Hunter and star spearhead Simon Goosey, who was unavailable, proved significant to the Tigers who lacked penetration and had no answer for the Demons’ intensity.
Rye fullforward Stephen Ryan booted eight goals, while Matt Noldt and Braeden Dennis were among the day’s best.
Frankston Bombers had a comfortable 38point result over Tyabb, despite Yabbie forward Jarrod Smith playing a blinder, booting 12 of his team’s 14 goals in a superb effort.
The day’s other results were predictable with Langwarrin downing Crib Point, Sorrento too good for Rosebud and Somerville defeating winless bottom side Red Hill.
