Officer youngsters overcome the odds

AN undermanned Officer Kangaroos under15 side defeated Narre Warren at the weekend.

UNDER 15

The Kangaroos put in an outstanding, gutsy effort with only 16 fit players. After a poor start Officer played a more physical and accountable style of game. The defence was excellent and the onballers ran all day. A fourman forward line kicked a winning score in a courageous effort.

UNDER 14

The Kangaroo played a competitive first quarter in slippery conditions against Fountain Gate on Sunday morning.
In the second quarter Fountain Gate broke away and led by four goals at halftime. Although the Kangaroos outscored the opposition in the second half and were able to get within eight points in the last quarter, the difficulty of catching up wore Officer down and Fountain Gate kicked a couple of late goals.

Officer started well with Steve Rordon kicking the first goal for the day and Adam White kicked the second. In muddy conditions during the last quarter Yoshi Karanaccaran kicked his goal.

UNDER 10 WHITE

The Kangaroos had their first win of the season by playing as a team and reaping the rewards of their efforts.

UNDER 10 BLUE

Beaconsfield managed to kick away in the second half.
