CRANBOURNE will host its sixth annual Tricodes race meeting this Sunday with the very best of racing, pacing and chasing on display.
Victorian Minister for Racing Rob Hulls helped launch the meeting at Federation Square with the chairmen of the three Cranbourne clubs and City of Casey mayor Colin Butler.
Mr Hulls said he was proud to have been a part of the initial Tricodes meeting in 2002 and praised all involved for building it into the successful event it has become.
“It is attracting a new breed of racegoer. It’s a huge benefit to all three codes and also a huge benefit to the local community,” he said.
Cr Butler encouraged residents across the district to take part in event, which he said had become a tradition in Casey.
“The City of Casey Tricodes Race Day showcases one of the few racecourses in the world that accommodates the three codes of racing,” he said. The day will feature 23 races with the first event scheduled to start at 11.20am and there will be a range of children’s activities and food stalls with families and punters assured of a great day at the races.
Admission to the Tricodes Race Day is $12 for adults and $8 for concession cardholders. Children under 18 will be admitted free.
