BAKERS at Brumby’s Bakery in Eden Rise shopping centre, Clyde Road, Berwick have won two thirdplace medals at the 2006 Victorian Baking Industry Show Class One awards.
Bakery owner Fiona Bellian said she was thrilled with the results.
They won the medals in category 680g White Block Sandwich Loaf and the Class 11 category Sour Dough.
The competition was held at the Gardenhurst Receptions and Convention Centre, North Essendon on Tuesday, 14 November.
“It’s very exciting to have the skills of our talented baker Richard Muller recognised by his industry peers,” Ms Bellian said.
“We have been open for less than a year, so I think this is an outstanding achievement and a sign of greater things to come. I think it will give the business a big boost.”
Brumby’s Bakeries Victoria franchise operations manager Anthony Sheridan said Eden Rise did incredibly well and its success was testament to Brumby’s commitment to producing quality food.
“Awards like these are a great chance for our bakers to hone their skills by competing against some of the best in the industry,” he said.
“I wish them every success in the future and hope they enter again next year.”
