Shelter for students’ frog mural

BERWICK Secondary College art students have created a mural for Frog Hollow Reserve, Endeavour Hills.
Casey mayor Kevin Bradford commended the work he said depicted elements of the reserve.
He said the mural was housed in a small shelter that is welcome to visitors, and he congratulated the students for their work.
“This mural highlights the talent and ability of our young people, and how their interest in the environment will help teach others.
“Art teacher and environmental coordinator Lisa Benn, who is also the 2006 Casey nonresident of the year, led the project which involved students from the Berwick Secondary College Year 10 art class last year.”
Cr Bradford said the council funded the project as a $350 conservation initiative grant to buy materials, as well as bus hire for students to visit Frog Hollow, where they did research on the reserve and selected key images to illustrate.
“I am grateful to Lisa Benn for her continued dedication to Casey’s environment and for the efforts of the students involved in this fantastic mural,” Cr Bradford said.
“I encourage them to share their learning with peers and others.
“I would also like to recognise the Friends of Frog Hollow and Melbourne Water for supporting the project.”
