Tucker’s ton puts Officer in charge

AN excellent 105 by Officer Agrade’s Colin Tucker helped his side to an excellent win against Pakenham UpperToomuc on Saturday
Tucker’s ton came when the Bullants were in trouble at 3/26 and behind PUT’s run rate.
He hit five sixes and 11 fours reaching his hundred inside 100 balls in a near chanceless innings.
This century followed on from his 90 against Beaconsfield.
Ben Tivendale played some good shots in his unbeaten 30 not out. Daniel Savage made a hardhitting 26 before retiring hurt and hopefully will be right to play Devon Meadows this week.
Shaun Marchetti with 12 and 2/29 off eight quick overs had a good allround game.
Officer made 4/190 passing PUT’s score after 35 overs.
With the ball, the wickets were shared with all bowlers contributing to a solid win.
Drew Tucker took 2/30 from eight overs, Kable Dowsett picked up important toporder wickets and had 2/36 in 8 overs.
Daniel Savage’s leg spinners netted him two for 39 including a great stumping from Colin Tucker and Ben Tivendale with 1/45 was the other wicket taker in what was a good effort with Pakenham Upper at one stage 1/63 from 10 overs.
This Saturday Officer takes on fifthplaced Devon Meadows.
Brett Reid was congratulated on his selection in the Victorian Country under21 side.

C GRADE

Officer had a convincing win over Pakenham by 124 runs.
Batting first, the Bullants made 6/233 getting off to a quick start with Peter Tucker leading the scorers with 50, including a big straight drive for six.
Glen Longmuir batted well for 24. Tony Smith made 30 until holing out at midon and had 0/9 from his leg spinners with a dropped catch unfortunately costing him a wicket.
Liam Main (48) and Simon Armstrong (45 not out) batted superbly for a 76partnership for the fifth wicket.
Darryl Timms also showed improved batting form with two boundaries in his unbeaten 16.
Officer bowled and fielded well with James Quinn and Peter Quinn taking good catches and seven wickets between them.
Peter finished with the accurate figures of 4/18 from eight overs with James Quinn 3/40 in his eight overs.
Paul Simon took 3/12 and Liam Main bowled tightly with the new ball for 0/16.
Mick Adams again did well with the ’keeper’s gloves with no byes.
Officer plays at Nar Nar Goon this weekend in a two dayer.
Liam Main, Peter Quinn and Peter Tucker won the man of the match awards, although other players also contributed to the win.

E GRADE

Officer had a tough game against Merinda Park, but showed improvement with 148 batting first.
Wayne Danks continued his great form with 52 in the middle order, sharing an 88run partnership for the fifth wicket with first gamer Kane Barkham who made a solid 26.
Ross Harris made an aggressive 19 opening the batting.
Merinda Park lost four wickets in the run chase with David Batchelor (2/33) being the leading wicket taker.
Rob Burns (1/12) and Wayne Danks (1/32) were the other successful bowlers with Peter Quigley (0/5).
Luke Beaumont with 0/36 bowled with good pace and bounce with the new ball.
