A quarter wins it for Catani

A STRONG third quarter saved an erratic Catani senior team against a fastfinishing Bunyip by 17 points on Saturday.
Played at Bunyip, the Blues ran hot and cold in recording the lessthanimpressive win over the Bulldogs.
The first quarter saw the Blues miss numerous shots at goal, failing to take advantage of the breeze and having more of the play.
They managed to improve things slightly in the second quarter, but with the Bunyip players working hard at frustrating their Catani opponents, the Blues went in at half time holding a sixpoint lead.
In the third quarter a firedup Blues went on a 12goaltotwo rampage and seemingly had the game sewn up at threequarter time.
However the final quarter was a complete reversal with Bunyip dominating the game and the Blues coming to a complete stop.
Bunyip scored 7 goals 9 points to Catani’s two points.

Catani was unable to stay on the winner’s list with a fivegoal loss at Bunyip.
The Blues were never able to get into the match, only scoring two goals for the game.
With no chance of a finals’ berth, the Blues are hopeful of a few victories before the end of the season.

In a very competitive game, Catani was unable to defeat its Bunyip rivals.
Mistakes at vital times cost the Blues dearly, but they fought out the game, outscoring Bunyip in the last quarter against the wind.

D. Zuydam, Ryan Kitchin, Joe Camilleri, Ben Monckton, Tom Grant and Kane Wedlock were amongst the best.

UNDER 15

Trailing all game Catani staged a remarkable finish, kicking three goals in the last four minutes, including one just before the siren, to snatch victory over Bunyip.
The win was a great confidencebooster for Catani that still has an outside chance of a toptwo spot.

UNDER 13

Catani fifths started the game well, restricting Bunyip to one goal with the wind.
The Blues then did well in the second term scoring three goals to three points.
The rest of the game belonged to the Blues who kept Bunyip scoreless, while kicking five goals. Keegan Power kicked his first goal.
