Cat breeder takes a bow

BUNYIP cat breeder Truda Straede impressed judges with several of her perfectly presented felines at a cat show last Sunday.
Ms Straede specialises in breeding Australian Mist cats and won five awards at the Feline Control Council of Victoria’s organised event in Mulgrave.
More than 200 cats were on display to local and international judges who were thoroughly impressed with the presentation and standard of the animals.
“It was a very successful day and the 70 exhibitors had a great time and got some fantastic goodies to take home,” Ms Straede said.
The Australian Mist cat is a popular pet that is specifically bred to live in an indoor environment. Ms Straede has a permit to breed and keep 60 of the animals at her Bunyip house.
“Three of my cats won places in the kitten section, I also had one adult cat placed and one other desexed cat placed in their respective sections too.”
Ms Straede is fast preparing for her next big cat presentation at The Royal Melbourne Show in September this year.
“Unfortunately there are very few shows in our district because there is a lack of suitable halls to conduct them in,” she said.
