LIFE returned to normal at Beaconhills Golf Club as the many Yarrawonga and Cobram trip participants settled back into club competition. Tuesday’s stableford competition on the Old Course was won by Greg Taylor (13) with 40 points to runnerup Lindsay Martin (17), who scored 39 points.
American foursomes was played by the ladies on Wednesday and the winners were Paula Rae and Phyllis Woods, who combined well off a handicap of 16 1/8 to shoot gross 90, nett 73 7/8. The runnersup were Ros Harding and Mary Padman (16 7/8) who shot gross 91, nett 74 1/8. Jenny Browning and Marilyn Ford were the nearestthepin winners on the sixth and 15th respectively.
On Thursday, Phil Read (12) was the Agrade winner of the par competition with +3, while Brad Taylor (18) won B Grade with +6.
The weekend competitions were all par events. On Saturday on the Old Course, A Grade was won by Sean Gray (12) with +5, B Grade by Peter Lockman (15) with +4 and C Grade by Charlie Miranda (20) with +1. The winner on the Lakes Course was Matt Coates (18) with +4. Brayden Hackling won the ninehole junior competition with 32 nett.
Peter Hamilton was the winner on Sunday with +3 to Colin Dell (+2, runnerup on a countback). This means Hamilton is the fourthround winner of the Beaconhills Cup.
