Guest speaker is all in the mind

SPORTS psychologist Lisa Stevens will take centre stage at the South East Victorian Equine Network (SEVEN) annual general meeting to be held next Monday, 10 April.
A former Australian women’s show jumping champion and accomplished horse woman, Lisa will be guest speaker at the meeting.
Lisa works across a range of sports including swimming, tennis, motor and horse racing, equestrian, cycling and figure skating.
“We are delighted and privileged to have such a high profile professional make the time to come and speak to SEVEN members and guests,” SEVEN president John Fowler said.
“Lisa’s depth and diversity of experience will impress all in attendance as will her presentation.
“Her ability to combine her passions for sports psychology and horses has resulted in a unique offering of expertise to the equine industry. Her presentation should not be missed,” he said.
Lisa is currently working as a sport psychology consultant for a number of elite sporting clubs, institutes and organisations such as the Victorian Institute of Sport, Swimming Australia Limited and Racing Victoria Limited, just to name a few.
Scheduled to start at 7.30pm, the AGM will include an update on the activities completed by this organisation on behalf of the equine industry over the past 12 months.
In addition, new committee and office bearers will be elected. Supper will follow.
SEVEN was formed in 2002 to unite, support and act as an advocate for the South East Victorian equine community.
It is run by volunteers and funded through membership fees, and is focused on increasing membership to help it achieve its goals and objectives.
A warm invitation is open to all SEVEN members, guests and to the broader community to attend the meeting at Chisholm Institute, 2 New Holland Drive, Cranbourne.
