Injuries dull Emerald’s shine

AN injuryhit Emerald senior side was overrun by Seville that won by 82 points on Saturday.
Seville kicked five goals to one in the first quarter and followed this up with six goals to two points in the second. The third and fourth quarters were better contested and the scores were much closer.
Emerald never gave up and fought the game out until the final siren.

An undermanned Emerald took to the field against Seville that led from the beginning of the first quarter and continued to increase its lead at every break. Emerald tried hard and showed some great passages of play, but with seven of its players being called up to the senior squad, due to injuries, this made it very difficult.

Emerald played Seville in cool and threatening conditions and soon took control, kicking 2.3 to 1.1 in the first quarter. Emerald kept the momentum going in the second quarter and kicked another three goals to Seville’s one.
The second half saw Emerald continue where it left off and outscore Seville in the third and final terms for a convincing win.
