Piranhas in the swim

CARDINIA Piranhas Swimming Club had great results at the wellorganised Hazelwood Open Water Swim on Saturday, 21 October.
Linda Van Rensch swam the threekilometre course in a personal best time of one hour, four minutes and 50 seconds, while Kaycee Gardiner, Rachael Bradley and Jordy McCrimmon also swam personal best times in the onekilometre swim.
Anna Boura and Kellie Gardiner both won thirdplace medallions in each of their age groups with personal best times in the onekilometre swim.
The event is a gruelling one for first time swimmers and the Piranhas swimmers excelled in their efforts.
The captains for the month of September/October were Kristian Harris and Nikki Kotuziak and awards were presented as follows:
Junior coach’s award for September: Rachael Bradley and October: Chloe Bremner; senior coach’s award for September: Lauren Chandler and October: Marnie Gilholme; encouragement award for September: Natahlia Poli and October: Chloe Milford.
These awards, provided by club sponsors, will be presented each month as an incentive to all swimmers.
