Relay for Life gets into stride

THE Casey Cardinia Relay For Life (CCRL) has set a $100,000 target for the March 2007 relay to be held at Akoonah Park, Berwick during the first week in March.
Cochair/manager Natalie Livsay said during the official launch of the 2007 relay that it had raised $100,000 with its first three events, but hoped to increase this with the March event.
“We have had fantastic teams and great support from the southeast region.”
Relay for life is a Cancer Council Victoria fundraiser.
Cochair Deborah Ditchburn said the relay committee had started recruiting early for the 2007 and fourth event.
“It is a memorable event filled with fun, laughter and the occasional tear,” Ms Ditchburn said.
“Everyone involved in the relay gets great satisfaction out of knowing that the money raised goes to the Cancer Council and helps in the fight for a cancerfree future.
The launch of the 2007 Relay For Life event coincided with the official renaming of Uncorked Wines to Let’s Unwine, with a showcase of the Let’s Unwine range.
Let’s Unwine proprietor Leon Horaczko hosted the launch and said he was thrilled to be helping Deborah and the dedicated team of volunteers start their team recruitment drive.
Registration for the relay is $15, which includes a Relay For Life branded sun smart polo shirt, handbook and fundraising materials.
For further information on the launch, please contact Deborah Ditchburn on 0412 850 257 or Natalie Livsey on 0438 548 739.
Teams can be registered with the Cancer Council on 1300 65 65 85 or visit www.relayforlife.org.au
