THEME: Jesus The Healer.
Aim: To have faith that Jesus has power over life and death.
The scripture came from the book of Mark, chapter 5, verses 21-43. In this chapter we learn of the healing powers of Jesus if we can but come to Him in faith.
We have in previous weeks seen that Jesus has the power over disease and even demons. But in this chapter he shows us that nothing, absolutely nothing, is impossible for Jesus.
He has power, even over death. As we read in the above mentioned chapter, we learn of the raising of Jairus’ daughter interwoven with the healing of the lady with continuous haemorrhaging.
The account of raising the little girl served as a reminder to them of the certainty of their own future resurrection. When we find ourselves marginalised and persecuted for our faith, we can draw strength and encouragement from such stories of the power that is found in and through Jesus, our Lord.
Praise the Lord for all His wondrous powers.
