Tigers mix it up

IN a mixed day for Beaconsfield’s senior sides on Saturday, B, C and D and Fgrades all secured strong wins, while A and E Grades suffered surprise losses.

A GRADE

Chasing Merinda Park’s total of 161 from last week, the Tigers started the day at 2/29 with Don Kerslake and Gus Patti at the crease.
Patti batted doggedly before finally being knocked over for 13. Don Kerslake went on to be the backbone of the Beaconsfield innings with 65.
The only other support came from Ryan O’Connor with 20, leaving Beaconsfield all out for 149.
Merinda Park had another turn with the bat and finished at 1/37 off 7.2 overs, with Troy McDermott claiming the one wicket.

B GRADE

Also playing Merinda Park, Beaconsfield was defending 5/288 declared and had its opponents one wicket down overnight.
Merinda Park was dismissed for 123 in its first innings with Travis Turnbull completing a fine match with 4/16 off 9.1 overs.
Geoff Bliss provided great support with 3/22 off 12 and Matt Brown bowled well to return 2/15 off 10.
Captain Matt Ravenhall asked Merinda Park to bat again and at the close of play Beaconsfield had its opponent 5/84.
Kris Fletcher and Matt Brown each captured two wickets, whilst Travis Turnbull added one more to round out a great game.

C GRADE

After restricting Officer to 136, Beaconsfield batted well to reach 6/249 at the close of the second day’s play.
Mick McMahon led from the front with 83.
Opening the batting Ross Mitchell scored 44, Craig Douglas got 38 and Wayne Heathcote 25.

D GRADE

After batting all 70 overs last week, Beaconsfield bowled and fielded well to restrict Pakenham UpperToomuc to 109.
Jayden Mack (3/9) Greg Butler (3/44). Steve Grindy (2/18) and David Green (1/33) captured the remaining wickets.

E GRADE

After making 9/230, Beaconsfield was confident of a win against Merinda Park.
This soon evaporated as Merinda Park made 5/413.
James Marsh (2/39), Joe McMaster (1/21) and Russell Vincent (2/35) stood out as wicket takers.

F GRADE

With a very young side, Beaconsfield had a memorable victory against Cranbourne Meadows.
With the bat Beaconsfield scored 3/148 including 50 each from Nathan Mitchell and Lachlan Murphy.
Cranbourne Meadows made 111.
Wickets for the Beaconsfield bowlers went to Jade Osborne (3/5) and Damien Johnston (3/9) and Daniel Johnston, Dylan Brown, Nathan Madden and Lachlan Murphy (one each).

UNDER 17 BANDITS

Beaconsfield playing Emerald Red were chasing 125 and batted well to make 3/207 with Peter Sofra 33, Brent Dames 30, Brad Pitcher 10, Brad Hollick 51 not out, Madison Andrews 40 not out and Cheyne Petit 11 not out.

UNDER 17 TIGERS

Tigers played PUT and were trying to defend 78 from the previous week but could not contain the PUT that made 7/149.
The best bowlers were Gus Patti (2/19 off eight overs), Jayden Mack (1/19), Tom Carlyle (1/15), Josh Butler (1/3), Chris Cherry (1/12) and Ben Cherry (1/15).

UNDER 15

Eagles played Officer and were chasing 82 and batted well for 8/189 with Josh Bruneau 17, Jordan Andrews 34 not out, Jordan Kelly 20, Adam Young 31 not out and Ryan Grafton 16 with Scott Monagle 10 not out.
Saints played Pakenham and were chasing a huge score of 144 and did well to make 105 with Jarryd Madden 33 not out, Dylan Claxton 10, Ian Goodison 13 and Lachlan Cotton 11.
Tigers played Clyde and broke through for their first win when they defended 133 from last week, dismissing the Clyde 9/109.
Best bowlers were Nick Beltran (3/15), Daniel Johnston (2/12), Arran Perera (1/15), Damien Johnston (1/6), James Johnston (1/15) and Aaron Gerbes (1/13).

UNDER 13

Saints played the Tigers at Akoonah Park with the Saints 82 last week.
The Tigers made 5/137 with Hayden Dooley 25 not out, Jordan Sheehan 25 not out and Brad Raynor 22.
Wicket takers for the Saints were Alex Gal (1/10), Liam Dullard (1/11), Glen Oliver (2/31) and Zach Lucas (1/20). Having another bat the Saints were 0/20 at stumps.
Minors played Upper Beaconsfield Red and were chasing 67 and batted well to make 107 all out.
Best bats were Dylan Blizzard (19), Nick Bruneau (13) and Arvind Krishnamoorthy (26 not out).
Eagles played Emerald Redbacks and captured 10/109 with the wicket takers James Munro (1/13), Dylan Guinana (1/11), James Waldon (1/22), Jack Sparkes (1/10), Cameron Dickins (1/15), Elle Blackburn (1/12) and Ben Cherry (3/15).
In reply the Eagles made 6/126 with the best bats James Munro (25 not out), Jack Sparkes (15), Elle Blackburn (13) and Georgie Benbow (12).
