Tops of the pops

SOME of Casey’s outstanding community members will receive top honours at the annual Casey Citizens of the Year Awards for 2007, to be held on Australia Day.
Of this year’s 35 nominations there were 11 residents for Citizen of the Year, seven for Young Citizen of the Year, six for Senior Citizen of the Year, three people for NonResident of the Year, and eight for Community Event of the Year.
The successful City of Casey Australia Day Study Tour recipients will also be recognised at the Australia Day Ceremony. Ten year 11 students will have the opportunity to observe and learn more about federal, state and local government in a fiveday tour and possibly meet the Prime Minister.
All nominees will be presented with certificates and the winner of each category will be announced at the awards ceremony on Australia Day and published on the City of Casey website.
