Yabbies set to nip

By Ian Ferguson
CRICKET punters will be looking for some sure things on the weekend leading into the Melbourne Cup, but there are no teams ‘past the post’ before the start of round three.
Much interest will centre on the first WGCA club turf fixture in which Clyde will host PUT. The Yabbies form has been more convincing and they should just get over the line in this historic match.
Is Kooweerup the Agrade dark horse?
The Demons have won their first two matches well, but have lapsed in form towards the end of games. They will need to compete strongly to match the confident Bulls at Cardinia and the home team is tipped to win an engrossing game.
Catani opposed to Officer is also a good eachway bet, but the Bullants are performing too well to be overcome by the Blues, even though Catani will have the homeground advantage.
Agrade selections, with the likely winners shown in capitals, are:
CARDINIA v Kooweerup.
Clyde v PUT.
BEACONSFIELD v Devon Meadows.
TOORADIN v Merinda Park.
Emerald v PAKENHAM.
Catani v OFFICER.
The match of the round in Bgrade will be at Upper Beaconsfield where the Maroons host Nar Nar GoonMaryknoll.
Little separates these two top teams, but the bowling talent of Brendan McGrath and the batting prowess of Matthew Lownds should secure the points for the visitors.
